Hiking at the Wilder Kaiser
The typcial landmarks of the Wilder Kaiser are the steep and towering summits.
Through forests, lush meadows and rocky areas interspersed with mountain pines, the trail leads to steep cliffs. Across from this point you can see the gently rising Grasberge ("grass mountains") of the Kitzbühel Alps, which are a lot easier to reach thanks to cable cars and panorama hiking trails. From there you are rewarded with a spectacular view over the rocky crown of Wilder Kaiser (literally: "wild emperor").
In Going and its surrounding areas there are many great themed hiking trails to explore: for example the Sinnesrunde in Söll ("tour of the senses") which offers tours for different moods: the sunny Sunnseit trail, the shady Schattseit trail for hot summer days, the Energieweg trail and the Aktivweg trail. Or why not explore one of the six mountain adventures (Hexenwasser, Ellmis Zauberwelt, Kaiserwelt, Scheffau, Filzalmsee, Hohe Salve, Alpinolino) and the mystical Steinkreis in Ellmau ("stony circle").
There is a great variety of hiking trails, from family-friendly panorama hikes to trails seamed with impressive carved wooden figures and challenging tours all the way up to the summit of the Goinger Halt.
During a guided hike (offered several times a week) with the experienced guides of the tourist association, you can reach even challenging summits and they will also show you the most beautiful alpine cabins of the Wilder Kaiser mountains.
